Troubleshooting

Solutions to common issues with CatchMate Specimen — from the app not loading to catches not syncing.

App not loading / blank screen

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. If you're offline, make sure the app is installed to your home screen for best offline support (see Working offline)
  3. Try a hard refresh — pull down to refresh, or force-close and reopen the app

Catches not syncing

The offline banner will appear while unsynced catches are queued. They will sync automatically when your connection returns.

If catches remain unsynced after reconnecting:

  1. Go to ProfileSettings
  2. Tap Clear Cache
  3. Reopen the app and check your Sessions for the affected session

Notifications not arriving

  • iOS: the app must be added to your home screen for push notifications to work — notifications won't arrive from the browser tab alone
  • Check you have allowed notifications in your browser or device settings
  • If you previously denied permission, re-enable it manually via your device settings — CatchMate cannot prompt again once permission has been denied

Session weight or catches look wrong in Analytics

  • Analytics only count ended sessions — active sessions are excluded until they are ended
  • Make sure the session is linked to the correct discipline (Specimen) — sessions logged under Coarse do not appear in Specimen analytics

PB certificate not showing my photo

The photo must be attached to the specific catch record that set the PB. If no photo is attached to that catch, the certificate uses a plain background. Open the catch and add a photo to enable the photo background option.

Can't delete a session or catch

Deletion requires an internet connection. Check your signal and try again. If you are on the bank and offline, you will need to wait until you reconnect.
