Notifications
Notifications
CatchMate can send push notifications to your device to keep you up to date with competitions, leagues, and friend activity.
What triggers a notification
CatchMate sends notifications for:
- Competition updates — when a result is finalised, or when an opponent links a session against you
- League updates — when a round is finalised or standings change
- Friend activity — when a friend request is accepted
Enabling notifications
You'll be prompted to allow notifications when you first use a feature that requires them. Tap Allow when prompted to enable them.
Managing notifications
To change your notification preferences:
- Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications in the app, or
- Use your device or browser notification settings directly
iOS — install required
On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work when CatchMate is installed to your home screen. Open app.catchmate.fish in Safari, tap the Share icon, and choose Add to Home Screen.
If you previously denied permission
If you tapped Deny when first prompted, CatchMate cannot ask again automatically. To re-enable notifications:
- Open your browser or device Settings
- Find CatchMate (or Safari/Chrome site settings)
