Adding a venue
Saving your regular venues unlocks automatic weather capture, lake feature mapping, and venue-level analytics.
To add a venue
- Go to Venues from the home screen
- Tap + Add Venue
- Enter the venue name — use the same name consistently so sessions link correctly
- Enter the postcode — this enables automatic weather data during sessions and positions the map correctly
- Optionally add: venue type (Lake, Reservoir, River, Canal, Pond, Commercial), notes, syndicate/day ticket status
- Tap Save
Why the name matters
When you start a session and type a venue name, CatchMate matches it to your saved venues list. If the name matches exactly, weather capture and map features activate automatically. Always use the same spelling.
Venue type
Setting a venue type (Lake, River, etc.) allows you to filter your Analytics by water type — useful if you fish a mix of commercial fisheries and natural waters.
