Tackle Profiles
Tackle profiles
A tackle profile saves your complete rod and rig setup so you can select it at the start of every session without re-entering everything from scratch.
To create a tackle profile
- Go to Profile → App Settings → Tackle Profiles
- Tap + New Profile
- Enter a name (e.g. "Pole 6m", "Method Feeder Push Stop", "Waggler Roach")
- Fill in the details:
- Tackle type — Pole, Float Rod, Surface Rod, Ledger Rod, Method Feeder, Cage Feeder
- Depth — Surface, Shallow, Midwater, On the Deck
- Main Line — Enter in breaking strain or diameter
- Hook Size — e.g. 16, 18, 20
- Hook Length — Enter the length of hook length
- Hook Length Strength — Enter in breaking strain or diameter
- Hook Type — Select the appropriate hook type: Barbless, Barbed, Hair Rig, etc.
- Hook Bait — Either manually add the hook bait or select from your library presets created in App Settings.
- Note — Optional field for entering extra details about this tackle profile setup.
- Once all the required fields are completed, press Save Profile.
Note: When selecting Tackle Type, additional fields will be made available for data entry such as Feeder Type and Float Type. If you wish to add data entry points for Pole Elastic Rating, please toggle Elastic Rating on within App Settings.
Using a profile in a session
When starting a new session, select the profile from the Tackle Profile dropdown. All details are pre-filled on the setup screen. You can override individual fields for that session without affecting the saved profile.
Multiple profiles
You can create as many profiles as you like — one per method, per venue type, or per target species. During a multi-rod session, you can assign different profiles to each rod.
⚠️ Editing a profile affects your historical sessions — Sessions are linked to your profiles rather than copying the data at session time, so editing a profile updates how that profile appears across every past session it was applied to. Per-session field overrides you set at the time of fishing are stored against that individual session and remain unchanged. If you want a tweaked version of a profile without rewriting history, clone the profile instead and edit the copy (see below).
Editing a profile
Tap the Pencil icon on any profile in the list to edit it. Use this when the change should apply retroactively to every session that used the profile (for example, you noticed the wrong line strength is recorded against months of sessions and want them all corrected).
Cloning a profile
Within Tackle Profiles you have the option to clone a profile by clicking the two-squares icon — that tackle profile will be copied to the bottom of your tackle profiles list. You can then edit the cloned profile to change any of the settings, including the tackle profile name. Cloning is the safe option when you want to evolve a setup over time without altering the history of sessions fished on the original.
