Sessions

Starting a session

Tap the Start New Session button on the home screen to open the new session form.

Required fields

  • Venue — Type the name of the fishery or river. If you've fished there before, it appears in the dropdown. You can also select from your saved venues.
  • Date & time — Defaults to right now. You can backdate sessions if you're adding one after the fact.

Optional fields

  • Peg number — Useful for match fishing to record which peg you drew.
  • Weight unit — Defaults to your preferred unit (lb/oz or kg/g). Can be changed per session.
  • Session type — Match or Pleasure.
  • Baits — List the baits you're fishing with (e.g. maggots, pellets, corn). These can be saved as presets.

Tackle setup

  • Single rod / tackle profile — If you have a saved tackle profile, select it here. Your rod, rig, hook size, and line details are pre-filled.
  • Multiple rods — Tap Add another rod to set up a multi-rod session. Each rod can have its own tackle profile and setup. This is ideal for feeder sessions with different methods on different rods.

Weather

Weather conditions (temperature, wind, cloud cover, pressure) are automatically recorded at session start using your location. If you have not granted location permission, the app falls back to the postcode you saved against the venue. You can also enter conditions manually.

Tap Start Session — the live session screen opens and your timer begins. You may also press Cast Out to start the session timer if you have the Cast Timer enabled in your app settings.
