Accessing the Gallery

Tap Gallery in the navigation bar. If it isn't visible, go to Settings → Navigation Bar to add it.

What the Gallery shows

At the top you'll see a stats strip with your total catch photos, the number of different species photographed, and how many are personal bests.

Photos appear in a grid with the most recent first. Two badges can appear on thumbnails:

• Crown icon — this catch is a personal best

• Pin icon — this catch has a lake map location attached

View modes

Use the icons in the top-right to switch between three views:

Grid — the default scrollable photo grid.

Venues — catches grouped by location. Each venue card shows a preview strip of up to eight photos, the best fish, and a total count. Tap a venue to filter the grid to catches from that location.

Map — a map showing all venues where you've photographed catches. Tap a venue pin to browse that location's photos.

Sorting and filtering

Sort toggle — switch between Latest first and Heaviest first.

Discipline filter — show All catches, or narrow to Coarse or Specimen only.

Species filter — tap a species chip to show only catches of that type.

PBs only — toggle to show only personal best catches.

Viewing a catch

Tap any thumbnail to open the full-screen viewer. Inside:

• Pinch or spread to zoom (up to 8×); double-tap to zoom to fit.

• Tap the photo to show or hide the info overlay (species, weight, date).

• If the catch has a lake map location, a View on lake map button appears.

• Tap the Share icon (top-right) to open the share sheet.

Sharing from the Gallery

Tap the Share icon in the viewer to open the catch share sheet. A preview of the share card updates live as you pick what to include.

Available toggles:

• Username

• Venue

• Date & time

• Water temperature

• Weather

• Setup name

• Tackle details (line, hook, bait)

• Session stats (total catches and weight)

• Session analytics (cast data)

• Notes

Adjust card crop — tap to reposition or resize the photo on the share card. Your crop is saved for this catch.

Save photo — saves a CatchMate-branded version of the image to your camera roll.

Facebook — appears once the share link loads. Creates a public catch page at app.catchmate.fish/share/... with a rich preview card (PB catches are labelled "Personal Best!" on the card). On mobile, tapping Facebook hands the link to your native share sheet; on desktop it opens the Facebook sharer.

Share — opens your phone's native share sheet so you can send the image via WhatsApp, Instagram, iMessage, or any other app. On desktop, the share text is copied to your clipboard.

Privacy

Your photos are only visible to you unless you actively share them. Sharing generates a one-time public link — anyone with that link can view the catch page, but your gallery and other sessions remain private.

This Gallery contains catch photos attached to individual fish. Session Photos are a separate private gallery for several pictures attached to a session; they do not appear here. See Session Photos.

Tip: Use the Heaviest sort and the PBs only filter together to quickly find your best catches for sharing.
