Logging catches
During an active session, tap + Log Catch to record a fish — CatchMate automatically detects personal bests and links each catch to your active tackle profile.
Required fields
- Species — select from the list or type a custom species
- Weight — enter in lb/oz or kg (whichever unit is set for this session)
Optional fields
- Rod — which rod slot the fish came from (auto-filled if you only have one rod active)
- Photo — take or select a photo. Photos are stored in your catch gallery
- Notes — any details about the fight, bait, or spot
Personal best detection
If the weight you enter beats your previous best for that species, CatchMate detects it automatically and shows a PB celebration screen. From there you can generate a shareable PB certificate instantly.
Catch attribution
Each catch is linked to the tackle profile (rod, rig, bait) that was active on that rod at the time of logging. This powers the bait and tackle analytics in the Analytics and Intelligence sections.
