Adding a venue

To add a venue

Saved venues can be selected during setup and opened for map and history context.

1. Go to Venues from the bottom navigation or home screen
2. Tap + Add Venue
3. Enter the venue name
4. Select the appropriate Water Type (optional)
5. Enter the Post Code of the venue (for live weather and mapping)
6. Optionally add Notes (type of fishery, species present, facilities)
7. Press the Add Venue button to save

A note on postcodes and pin accuracy

Many fisheries — especially small commercial complexes and rural waters — share a postcode with a wider area or the nearest village rather than having one that pins exactly to the bank. The postcode is still useful: it pulls live weather and a forecast that's accurate enough for planning, and it places a default map marker on the right area.

For pin-accurate mapping, open the venue's map and drop a pin on the swim or car park manually (see Drawing venue maps). Saved map pins take precedence over the postcode for in-app distance and weather lookups.

What you can see in a saved venue

Each saved venue opens to a detail page with six tabs.

Intel

The Intel tab is your personal fishing notebook for this water. It's private — only you can see it.

• Best Pegs — which pegs historically produce
• Best Tactics — what methods work at this venue
• Best Bait — what the fish respond to
• Best Time of Year — seasonal notes

You can fill these in yourself or use Generate with AI. The AI button analyses your logged sessions at this venue and suggests entries based on your actual catch data. Use the discipline picker (Both / Coarse / Specimen) to focus the analysis before generating. You can edit any field before saving.

At the bottom of the Intel tab, the Ask the Advisor section gives you direct access to the Angling Advisor focused on this water — see below.

Bait

The Bait tab shows a data-driven breakdown built from your session records:

• Bait Win Board — your top-performing baits ranked by catch rate
• Winning combinations — the tackle and bait pairings that produced the most
• Species vs. method matrix — which species you've caught on which approaches

History

The History tab lists every session you have logged at this venue, along with your species personal bests recorded there. Tap any session to open the full session record.

Depths

The Depths tab lets you record water depths at specific pegs or swims — useful for noting shelf positions, drop-offs, or marginal features before a session.

Photos

The Photos tab holds a gallery of swim and peg photos you've taken at this venue. Photos are linked to the specific swim or area they were taken from, giving you a visual record of the water across different seasons and conditions.

Reviews

The Reviews tab is where you can log personal ratings and notes from each visit — useful for tracking how a venue fished under different conditions over time.

Ask the Advisor from the Intel tab

The Intel tab includes an Ask the Advisor section at the bottom. This lets you get personalised, AI-driven advice about this specific venue without leaving the venue page.

Four pre-built prompts are shown — for example:

• "Plan my next session at [Venue] — what should I focus on?"
• "How can I improve my catch rate at [Venue]?"
• "Walk me through what's working best at [Venue] and why."
• "What should I try differently at [Venue] on my next session?"

You can also type your own question into the free-text field and tap Send.

Tapping any prompt or sending your own question opens an Advisor chat sheet that slides up over the venue page. Your catch history at this venue — species caught, tactics that worked, best conditions, recent sessions, and today's weather — is automatically included as context in every message, so you don't need to explain the venue to the Advisor.

The conversation is ephemeral: it starts fresh each time you open the sheet. Use the follow-up input at the bottom to keep asking questions before closing. Tap the ✕ or the background to return to the venue page.

Venue focus in the Angling Advisor

You can also access venue-specific advice from the main Angling Advisor page. A venue selector in the Advisor header lets you choose any of your saved venues from a picker sheet. When a venue is selected:

• A stats card shows your session count, total catches, average per session, top tactic, and live weather at the venue
• The quick-start prompts update to venue-specific suggestions built from your real catch data
• Every message you send — whether from a prompt chip or typed yourself — automatically includes your full catch history at that venue as context

Select a different venue from the picker at any time, or tap the ✕ on the venue indicator to return to general advice.
