Troubleshooting
Login keeps logging me out
If you find you have to sign in every time you open CatchMate, one of the following is usually the cause.
1. Private / Incognito browsing
Private browsing modes wipe your session every time you close the tab. Use a normal browser window — or, better, install CatchMate to your home screen as a PWA (see Installing CatchMate on your phone) so it always opens in its own session.
2. Cookies blocked
CatchMate needs cookies enabled to keep you signed in. On iPhone: Settings → Safari → Block All Cookies → off. On Android (Chrome): Settings → Site settings → Cookies → Allow.
3. "Clear data on close" enabled
Some browsers have a setting that wipes site data every time you close the browser. Turn this off, or add coarse.catchmate.fish to the exception list.
4. Multiple devices, password recently changed
If you change your password on one device, other devices will be signed out the next time they try to refresh their session — this is by design. Sign back in once with the new password.
5. Two-factor authentication codes
If you've enabled 2FA, you'll be asked for a code each time you sign in. The session itself is then long-lived — you shouldn't need to enter a code every time the app opens.
