App won't load
If CatchMate is stuck on a blank screen, the loading spinner, or won't open at all, work through the steps below in order.
1. Check your connection
CatchMate needs an internet connection on first load. Try opening another website on the same device — if that fails too, the problem is with your phone's connection, not CatchMate.
2. Fully close the app and reopen it
On iPhone (PWA): swipe up from the bottom of the screen and swipe CatchMate off the recents view. On Android: open the recent apps view and swipe CatchMate away. Then reopen.
3. Force a fresh load
Open coarse.catchmate.fish in your phone's browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android) and pull down to refresh. This pulls the latest version of the app from the server.
4. Sign out and back in
If the app loads but you're stuck on a screen with no data, sign out from Profile → Sign out and sign back in. This often clears stale local state.
5. Reinstall the PWA
As a last resort, remove the CatchMate icon from your home screen and reinstall it (see Installing CatchMate on your phone). This forces a completely fresh install. Your data is in the cloud and will reload after sign-in — nothing is lost.
