Live-session button cheat sheet

Keep this two-page Specimen reference beside you while testing the live session flow. It explains the session and cast timers, catch shortcuts, Catch Log corrections, and the confirmation prompts for destructive actions.

The live session is designed for quick taps at the bank. Use page 1 for the timer and catch controls, then page 2 when you need to correct or move a cast or catch. The tiles can be in a different order if you have customised Settings → Session layout.

Page 1: session and catch controls

Specimen live-session page 1: the not-started Session Time card with Start Session, Cast Timer, Cast Out, Reel In, Quick Log, and Add Catch controls.

The numbered reference is identical to the Coarse page 1 reference, with these Specimen-specific labels:

  • The primary button may read Add Catch · Specimen rod.
  • The surrounding page uses the Specimen pursuit and its configured rods and species, while the button order and timer behavior remain the same.

Numbered reference

  1. Session Time — before the first start it shows 00:00, Not started, and Start Session. Tapping Start Session begins the timer; tapping Cast Out also starts a not-started session. Pause, Resume, and Reset timer then control the whole session. Reset confirms before discarding the recorded time.
  2. Cast Timer — tracks the current Specimen cast separately from the session.
  3. Cast Out — starts the session when needed, then starts the current cast stopwatch.
  4. Reel In — stops the cast and records a blank when no fish was logged.
  5. Cast cancel/reset — confirms before deleting the current cast record.
  6. Quick Log — tap a configured species button with for the fast flow.
  7. Add Catch — opens Select Species, Log Weight, and Log Catch.
  8. Full catch flow — complete the Add Catch screens in order.
  9. Quick Log flow — tap Log to complete the catch and close the active cast without creating a duplicate manual-duration cast.

Page 2: Catch Log and layout controls

Numbered reference

  1. Edit cast — change duration or the Blank/Fish result, then Save or Cancel.
  2. Edit catch — reopen the catch details with the pencil.
  3. Log or Blank — turn Catch (not logged) into a linked catch, or keep its duration and mark it blank.
  4. Move — choose another rod/setup.
  5. Delete — confirm Delete this cast? This cannot be undone. before removing the cast.
  6. Done — close the Catch Log sheet.
  7. Reset — restore the default Session layout order; press Save to commit it.
