Sharing your PB certificate
Every new personal best generates a shareable certificate — a polished graphic showing the species, weight, venue, date, and your name. You can customise what appears on it, add your catch photo as the background, and share it directly to social media or save it to your camera roll.
Generating a certificate
New PB detected during a session — the celebration screen includes a Share PB Certificate button. Tap it to go straight to the certificate.
From your profile at any time — go to Profile → Personal Bests, find the species PB you want, and tap the Share icon on that row.
What's on the certificate
- Species name and PB weight
- Personal Best badge
- Previous PB weight (optional)
- Venue name (optional)
- Date (optional)
- Your name (optional)
- Your CatchMate username (optional)
- CatchMate branding
If the catch has a photo attached, it fills the certificate background. Without a photo, a clean plain background is used instead.
Customising the certificate
The certificate screen shows a set of toggles to control what appears on the graphic. Which toggles are available depends on the data recorded for that catch:
Date — always available; toggle off to remove the catch date.
Angler name — always available; toggle off to remove your name.
Previous PB — only appears if this catch beat an existing record. Toggle on to show your old PB alongside the new one, so the improvement is visible at a glance.
Venue — only appears if a venue was logged for the catch. Toggle off to keep the location private.
Username — only appears if you have a username set on your CatchMate account. Toggle off to share anonymously.
Saving and sharing the certificate
Download — saves the certificate image to your camera roll. On iPhone, this opens your native share sheet so you can choose Save Image (or send it directly to another app).
Share — opens your phone's native share sheet. You can send the certificate via WhatsApp, Instagram, iMessage, or any other app that accepts images.
Sharing an individual catch photo to Facebook
The certificate share uses your native share sheet. For a dedicated Facebook preview card (with a rich image, weight, and species), use the catch photo viewer instead:
- Open the Gallery tab — or tap the photo thumbnail on your Profile PB row.
- Tap the Share icon in the viewer.
- Choose your toggles, then tap Facebook.
This creates a public page at app.catchmate.fish/share/... with a Facebook-optimised preview image. PB catches are labelled "Personal Best!" on the card.
Tip: Turn on the Previous PB toggle — seeing the improvement from your old record to the new one makes for a far more impressive share.
