The photo gallery | CatchMate Coarse Help

The Gallery collects every catch photo you've taken across all your sessions into a single scrollable view — a visual fishing diary that builds up over time. From here you can browse, filter, and share individual catches without opening a session.

Opening the Gallery

Tap Gallery from the navigation bar. If it isn't visible, go to Settings → Navigation Bar to add it.

What appears

A stats strip at the top shows your total catch photos, the number of different species photographed, and how many are personal bests.

Photos are displayed in a grid, most recent first. Two badges can appear on thumbnails:

Crown icon — this catch is a personal best
Pin icon — this catch has a lake map location attached

View modes

Use the icons in the top-right to switch between three views:

Grid — the default scrollable photo grid.

Venues — catches grouped by location. Each venue card shows a preview strip of photos, the best fish, and a count. Tap a venue to narrow the grid to that location.

Map — shows all venues where you have photographed catches. Tap a pin to browse that venue's photos.

Sorting and filtering

Sort toggle — switch between Latest first and Heaviest first.

Discipline filter — show All catches, or narrow to Coarse or Specimen only.

Species filter — tap a species chip to show only catches of that type.

PBs only — toggle to show only personal best catches.

Viewing a catch

Tap any thumbnail to open the full-screen viewer:

Pinch or spread to zoom (up to 8×); double-tap to zoom to fit.
Tap the photo to show or hide the info overlay (species, weight, date, venue).
If the catch has a lake map location, a View on lake map button appears.
Tap the Share icon to open the share sheet.

Sharing from the Gallery

Tap the Share icon in the viewer. A live share-card preview updates as you choose what to include.

Available toggles:

Username
Venue
Date & time
Water temperature
Weather
Setup name
Tackle details (line, hook, bait)
Session stats (total catches and weight)
Session analytics (cast data)
Notes

Adjust card crop — reposition or resize your photo on the share card. The crop is saved for this catch.

Save photo — saves a CatchMate-branded image to your camera roll.

Facebook — appears once the share link loads. Creates a public catch page at app.catchmate.fish/share/... with a rich preview card. On mobile, tapping Facebook passes the link to your native share sheet; on desktop it opens the Facebook sharer.

Share — opens your phone's native share sheet (WhatsApp, Instagram, iMessage, etc.). On desktop, the share text is copied to your clipboard.

Adding photos to catches

Photos are attached when logging a catch — take one with your camera or choose from your photo library. You can also edit a past catch from Session History to add or change its photo.

Session photos are stored with a session and are separate from the catch photos shown in this Gallery. For multiple private session pictures, captions and removal, see Session Photos.

Tip: Use the Venues view to find your best shot from each water, then share it directly from there.
