Sessions
Live-session button cheat sheet
Keep this two-page Coarse reference beside you while testing the live session flow. It explains the session and cast timers, catch shortcuts, Catch Log corrections, and the confirmation prompts for destructive actions.
The live session is designed for quick taps at the bank. Use page 1 for the timer and catch controls, then page 2 when you need to correct or move a cast or catch. The tiles can be in a different order if you have customised Settings → Session layout.
Page 1: session and catch controls
Coarse live-session page 1: the not-started Session Time card with Start Session, Cast Timer, Cast Out, Reel In, Quick Log, and Add Catch controls.
Numbered reference
- Session Time — tracks the complete fishing session. Before the first start it shows 00:00, Not started, and Start Session. Tapping Start Session begins the timer; tapping Cast Out also starts a not-started session before starting the cast. A running timer offers Pause; a paused timer offers Resume. Reset timer asks for confirmation because it discards the recorded time.
- Cast Timer — tracks the current Coarse cast separately from the session.
- Cast Out — starts the session too when it is not started, then starts the cast stopwatch when the line hits the water.
- Reel In — stops the cast and records it as a blank when no fish was logged.
- Cast cancel/reset — the circular control asks for confirmation before deleting the active cast record.
- Quick Log — tap a species button such as Bream +, Mirror Carp +, or Tench + to use the fast catch flow.
- Add Catch — opens Select Species, then Log Weight, and finally Log Catch. The visible button may include the active rod name, for example Add Catch · Float rod.
- Full catch flow — in Add Catch, complete Select Species → Log Weight → Log Catch.
- Quick Log flow — enter the weight when the form asks for it and tap Log. An active cast is closed and its elapsed time is kept with the catch; do not enter a second manual-duration cast for the same fish.
Page 2: Catch Log and layout controls
Coarse Catch Log page 2: edit, log, blank, move, delete, close, and layout-reset controls.
Numbered reference
- Edit cast — change the cast duration and choose Blank or Fish, then tap Save. Cancel leaves the record unchanged.
- Edit catch — tap the pencil on a catch row to reopen its catch details.
- Log or Blank — on a timer catch labelled Catch (not logged), use Log to open the catch form and attach a fish to that cast, or use Blank to keep its recorded duration while marking it blank.
- Move — choose another rod/setup so the cast or catch remains in the session with corrected attribution.
- Delete — remove a cast after the confirmation prompt, Delete this cast? This cannot be undone. This is destructive.
- Done — close the Catch Log sheet without changing anything else.
- Reset — in Settings → Session layout, restore the default tile order. The change is reversible until Save is pressed.
